Crowdfunding Seminar Big Success!
Encinitas, CA – Jerri Lyne Nachman, Founder at CrowdVesting Media, is happy to announce the first in a series of workshops and seminars Saturday, October 1, 2016 on how to raise capital and equity using the new Regulation Crowdfunding was not only sold out, it was standing room only!
The speakers were top of the industry and shared everything from the legal aspects of raising capital from strangers “the crowd”, to using social media to draw attention to your Crowdfunding campaign, to adapting a for-purpose and for-benefit new business model. A national speaker also shared his experience of creating a Crowdfunding campaign from start to finish.
Nachman, an award winning video producer and national media agency owner, has been an entrepreneur for over 30 years. She said, “I used to say I am self employed never referring to my business as ‘free lance’. There’s no ‘free’ in working hard and getting ahead implementing your own ideas under your own steam.” Nachman founded 4 different businesses in her career.
The Crowdfunding seminar invited entrepreneurs, students, those who have been laid off and have not been fully employed, military Veterans seeking to raise capital for non-profits to help other Vets, business people with innovative ideas, and seniors looking to launch a new home-based business. Attendees were as diverse as that.
Banks stopped lending as a direct result of the 2008 economic crash. Crowdfunding is a Regulation introduced by the 2012 JOBS Act (Jump start our business startups) and became law this past May lowering regulations that prevented smaller business owners to raise capital on their own. Crowdfunding is a platform in which enterprising ideas are posted on SEC regulated online portals with goals to raise levels of seed money or equity, then, people on the Internet can put their own money into supporting these goals, and new businesses are launched.[/column] [/row]
The October 1st seminar, “The Principles of Crowdfunding and How To Raise Capital Using the JOBS Act” was just an introduction to Crowdfunding. The following workshops will dive deeper into for-profit and non-profit campaigns, drill down into which portal is best for different business ideas, and how to prepare a Crowdfunding campaign. There are also different regulations covering a wide range of equity raises from $50,000 to $50,000,000.
It is estimated that Crowdfunding will inject close to $65 Billion into the global economy in 2016, and over $3.2 Trillion by 2020. The Crowdfunding industry has raised capital for millions of individuals from college students to small business owners, to artists and filmmakers, to conscious food purveyors, to the next big tech explosion. My clients have been crowdfunding real estate for the past 17 years.$3.2 Trillion by 2020
