Crowdfunding Workshop: Part Four, September 21, 2017
Join our progressive Crowdfunding Workshop series when we learn the Crowdfunding industry. We meet the third Thursday of every month in Encintias, California at a very cool venue. Sign up here: Crowdfunding-Part-4-Marketing.eventbrite.com
Each workshop has a portion on marketing and a special guest speaker – an expert from the Crowdfunding industry.
The workshop has been designed to give participants the full range of how to create a Crowdfunding campaign. After working in the securities industry writing, designing and producing investment offering packages, Jerri Nachman, founder of CrowdVesting Media©, is focused today on assisting entrepreneurs, small business owners, dreamers, film makers, designers, middle management, college grads, non college grads, real estate investors, service providers, fintech, high tech, and Veterans to raise the capital they need to jumpstart their business. It takes a village to develop a campaign, so chose your team carefully and allow us to manage your entire complex campaign development. We have been working on campaigns since 1999.
Each of our workshops so far begins with the marketing aspects of getting investors – “backers” – to follow your business and then back your campaign.

So, on June 15th, our first workshop, I created a presentation to delineate the new laws and regulations on Title III Regulation Crowdfunding (raise up to $1 million in a 12-month period), Regulation A (raise up to $20 million in a 12-month period) and Regulation A+ (raise up to $50 million in a 12-month period). We have been honored with presentations from securities attorneys, Richard Weibtraub, Esq. and Amy Y. Wan, Esq. Their presentations can be found in our free library at http://crowdvestingmedia.com/library/
Ruth Hedges, mastermind and executive producer of the Global Crowdfunding Convention (GCC), also Skyped in to one of my larger seminars last spring and went through the process of creating the media and campaign. The 6th Annual GCC is October 23 – 24, 2017 at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. Last year was a blast! I have my tickets for this year already.
Each month, I’ve assigned homework like defining your target market and your competition. Now how can you market to potential backers if you don’t have any idea who your ideal investor is? How to speak to them in your marketing materials, approach, strategies? What perks or investment rewards to offer them?
So, anyway, it was a good try and no one did their homework… so no more homework assignments!
July 20, 2017
July 20th, we devoted the 90 minute workshop to prelaunch. The presentation was geared toward how to set up the legal & business necessities, ramping up a social media campaign (you need $10,000 loyal followers to think about raising up to $100,000), discern between your customers and potential “backers”. They can be two different mind sets. Amy Wan, Esq. came down again to present and answer any questions concerning the legal aspects of Crowdfunding. (Amy is great!) She revealed her new fintech business streamlining the legal application process for real estate crowdfunding. This past workshop was all about funnel marketing. How to take your backer from your initial contact with them all the way down to backing your campaign. A lot to ask a stranger. However, when done properly, in your most authentic self, you share who you are and how your product or service is going to make the world a better place. And now is a good time to do that! This presentation uses infographics to carry participants from one thought to the next in developing a successful funnel marketing campaign. After 6 weeks of Webinars with Eli Regalado of Krowdster, I changed my thinking about how to market to potential backers and to any new customer for that matter. I am an affiliate of Krowdster so please use this link to find out more about their ingenious complete Crowdfunding digital marketing package for a very small investment: https://app.krowdster.co/ref/lxs09lSLGwyQ You could spend 5 times that much doing it on your own!
I also began to go over how to construct your landing environment on a Crowdfunding portal. It doesn’t matter if you are a for-profit, non-profit or rewards-based Crowdfunding campaign, human beings still respond to a request for investment or money the same way. Once people land on your offering portal, tell your story with video (people don’t read anymore), an explanation they can repeat to someone else, and the background/successes of your company, purpose, cause, improvement, and how you will fill the gap where no one else can. (Or do it better!) One of my workshop participants asked what an Infographic was and I responded, “You’re looking at one.” Sometimes!
HERE IS A GREAT FREE BENEFIT!
Alon Goren Skyped into our workshop and offered great information, answered questions and was a real asset to our group. Since I am a long time video producer, winning the ITVA “Video Awards of Excellence” 3 consecutive years for writing and producing original cable TV programming and a producer for Comedy Central Network (until they deprived me of so much sleep and food I came home after 2 years) and the producer of investment videos for 15 years, I think the next workshop should be about how to write and produce your Crowdfunding video.
What do you guys think?
